Details from PG :
To this day it is still impossible to test a Sealion 5 on the road at the Tours dealership. There is only one vehicle on display. I drove with a seal U DM I to see the engine. Not cool from BYD.
Finally on March 26 I was able to test the vehicle but the delivery time was 3 months late, which is more than 6 months in my case.
The good points
Very nice finish, generous interior space, silent combustion engine in normal operation, very comfortable on motorways and roads with good coating, all-electric driving, fairly complete equipment.
From afar good
Very firm suspension, particularly on speed bumps, high consumption at 130 km/h (>8 liters per 100 km), main screen display too small, reading of traffic signs sometimes unpredictable
Very bad
Very unpleasant and sometimes dangerous lane keeping system, ELKA system appears unexpectedly as soon as the road markings disappear
Autonomy
The 1016 km of autonomy is impossible to maintain as soon as the route includes the highway

On the Tours dealership none of the Sealion 5s have definitive registration and none are in circulation. Could there be a delay in approval, which could explain the delays in delivery to the end of April for the moment?

Initial delivery period of 3 months
PG had opted for the BYD Sealion 5 on 23/12/2025. When purchasing, he was initially given a delivery date of 02/04/2026, equating to a three months delivery period.
A delivery delayed by 3 months
In PG's case, his BYD Sealion 5 was delivered with a slight three months delay, on 09/06/2026. Although rare, this delay remained within a reasonable timeframe. BYD still managed well.
In fact, PG waited 6 months
PG ordered their BYD Sealion 5 in France 
on 23/12/2025. At the time of their order, the initially announced delivery date was 02/04/2026, which was an initial delivery time of 3 months. In the end, PG took possession of the vehicle on 09/06/2026, which resulted in a waiting time of 6 months.
