Details from Bob 17130 :
Order canceled following a foreseeable 3-month postponement, replaced by a car in dealer stock (with panoramic roof option).
Delayed delivery on this second vehicle following the problem with the rear door locks which are the subject of a recall
2+3 seat coupe interior for tall people.
Very beautiful bodywork but remaining sober. It's not flashy.
For the interior, it's not rosewood, but very correct, well thought out. the seat is good with good adjustment of the steering wheel and commodo assembly. Rear space is good for the legs, a little less for the head. For the materials (soft or hard plastic), I attach no importance to it and the finish is well done and clean.
Increased performance, fuel consumption still under control
I'm not a fan of over-driving. This car gives the impression of being more secure, turns well in corners. you have to have a light foot on the accelerator. Consumption seems close to my old Prius 3 plug-in (P3pi) at the same level of driving or even lower.
Better electric autonomy. Gasoline engine more discreet than on the P3pi. I like the design of the thermal and electric engine in a single unit where all the power requested from the vehicle is managed automatically between the thermal engine and the electric motors/generators (hybrid mode) or only with the electric motor alone (electric mode). Great design from Toyota. Possibility of charging the traction battery with the thermal engine if necessary.
Modern equipment
Modern car with lots of driving assistance elements. These aids are quite effective both for parking and driving. speed limiter, cruise control with lane guidance and distance from the vehicle in front (we don't stick it), or simpler version. Help to prevent an impact with various fixed or moving objects that could stop the vehicle, sometimes a little surprising.
Beautiful screen for multimedia making it easy to read. Digital and FM radio of very good quality, pleasant sound.
I like the dashboard "view above the steering wheel" in eye alignment and whose indications are clearly visible.
A single USB socket requiring choices of the ultra-peripheral. 5 USB sockets for charging only. 220V 1500W socket (not tested)
Once a Prius, always a Prius.
Difficult to give an opinion on the quality/price ratio. When we see the prices of 100% electric cars in the same category, it seems very well placed to me with this dual engine. My choice is for short journeys, it is the electric mode, for long journeys it is the hybrid thermal mode. Hence my choice of this type of car (10 year experience with a Prius 3 plug-in). Quite a long hybrid autonomy and very low fuel consumption compared to what I had with thermal gasoline. And incomparable reliability with my previous plug-in Prius 3. I like this full hybrid technology used by Toyota, and with this model, a beautiful body.
