Very low real consumption of the Kamiq 116 CV Evo2, BM6 from 2025

To replace my Yeti TDi 110 from May 2013 with 47,081 km on the clock, I bought the Kamiq 85 KW-116 PS with BM6, and I therefore went from a 4-cylinder 2 L to a 3-cylinder 0.999 L (!) having also read on technical sites EVERYTHING about the extreme sophistication of these 3 cylinder petrol engines from VAG. (And anyway I only buy European and not Chinese)

These first 3 days I did 393 kilometers in real conditions. I never go to town and I drive as always, i.e. like the Finns, Swedes, Norwegians, NEVER exceeding 90 km/h.

At 90 the Yeti TDi 110 was running a little above 1600 rpm, and the Kamiq 116 PS was running at a little over 1800 rpm. The Yeti was super-quiet, the Kamiq had the acoustics of an auditorium!!! Strictly no vibrations, no noise apart from a very very very slight blowing from the wind-speed. You have the impression of being in a concert hall before the Conductor raises the baton.

With the Yeti I made 3.6 l/100 of diesel on my Strasbourg-Stockholm routes via the German motorway.
Yesterday I drove 210 km on the German autobahn and only consumed 4.1 l/100 of petrol with the Kamiq, which means that with just one tank I also cross the whole of Germany again towards the north to the Baltic from Strasbourg.
Today I did a long tour in the high mountains, in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) with 12 and 17% as in the Alps, and I only consumed 5.3 l/100 on the entire route!

To check the accuracy of the figures announced on the dashboard in real time and in MySkoda App I refuel before and after my test runs. The figures correspond, as with my Yeti whose on-board computer was still much less sophisticated.

The Kamiq TSi 116 HP with its small engine is an excellent climber, like the Yeti, and acceleration is excellent.
The Yeti had 250 Nm between 1500 rmp and 2500, with a flat curve, and the Kamiq has 200 Nm between 2000 and 3500 rpm with a flat curve.

So the driving pleasure between the diesel with the strong immediate torque of the Yeti is the same as with the Kamiq and this small engine. You just have to play a little more with the gear lever of the 6 gearbox, and that's why I took the manual gearbox, because I drive at engine torque and not at rpm like with my pre-war cars. With the Yeti I NEVER exceeded 2500 rpm, with the Kamiq I never exceed 2800 rpm.

Obviously I'm not accelerating like a crazy person and then braking 100 meters later. (On the German highway there are 100% crazy people.)

That's it, I'm safe until 2035 with another +/- 40,000 km on the clock.

On the official German Skoda forum I opened a Thread and posted my comments, step-by-step explanations with photos.

No one on this very large forum had ever seriously and correctly provided explanations for this, it was impossible to understand anything.

As I was not completely sure when ordering my Kamiq I also ordered the option of the retractable ball for a Thule bicycle support.

Photo taken before I managed to release the left rear seatback because of the central seat belt attached under the seat.
A bike fits in even with the bench seat.

There is... even more room in the Kamiq than in the Yeti (whose chassis was designed for a 4WD) and the bottom was higher.
In addition, the opening of the Kamiq is... larger than that of the Yeti.
With the Yeti you first had to put the bike horizontally, with the Kamiq you roll the bike vertically and in a single movement!

13/03/2025 : The Skoda dealership has just announced to me that my Kamiq will be produced between 03/26 and 03/31/2025.
It will then be transported from the Czech Republic and delivered to me at the end of April in Strasbourg.
28/03/2025 : The Skoda application has just announced to me on March 27, 2025 at 11:30 p.m. that my Kamiq has entered production.
The application no longer shows "ordered" but "in production". So I have the impression that my Kamiq will be delivered to me before the deadline indicated on the order form, which was for June 1st.
30/03/2025 : The application shows me that my Kamiq was built on March 28, 2025 and that on the 29th it had already left for delivery to Strasbourg.
04/04/2025 : Yesterday Thursday 03/03/2025 the MyŠkoda application shows me >>> “She’s on her way!”
05/04/2025 : Friday 04/04/2025 the application shows me that my Kamiq has arrived at the dealership in Strasbourg Hoenheim. I'm going there on foot this Saturday morning.
