A superb line, a slightly dull interior
Exterior: I love it, the Vivid Ruby color is really magnificent, a burgundy-purple with nuances that depend on the ambient light, and bordered by a black roof and wheel contours that enhance the exterior line of the Puma.
Interior: a little more neutral, and less modern in terms of the dashboard (that's the interior of the Fiesta). The seat covers are pretty nice.
You get in and out easily, even with lower back problems, the threshold being quite low (this change alone is saving).
At the front, there is plenty of room, however the central armrest could do with being longer. In the back, it will be fine for children, for adults or older teenagers, it might be just right.
Trunk: There on the other hand, all the necessary space: between the trunk floor which can be placed at 2 different heights or "stored" at the bottom, and the additional megabox underneath - which can also be rinsed with a jet - there is plenty of space to carry all your daily essentials or for going on holiday.
I finally have fun driving!
I'm moving from a 105hp Seat Ibiza diesel to this 155hp Powershift Puma. Suffice to say that the gap is rather large, and that starting from afar, I risk being very generous.
This is my first automatic transmission, I was a little reluctant, but my chronic sciatica convinced me. And I don't regret it.
You absolutely don't feel the gear change. Only the engine noise changes (and the noise of a 3 cylinder is not crazy). But otherwise, it is not very noisy.
I find it very pleasant to drive, it is responsive, rather powerful given its category, very precise in terms of steering, and holds the road well. It could be more comfortable, we still feel the road well - 'sport' suspensions oblige -, on the other hand the comfort of the seats is excellent, we are perfectly seated in them.
I drive with the standard driving mode, already because changing with a button near the gearbox to press several times to cycle through each mode is really not practical, but also because I saw little difference between each mode.
On my daily journey, in terms of consumption, I am at 6.5l/100, knowing that I do 30% in the city, 30% on highways at 110, 40% on roads at 80. And that I do not drive particularly eco-friendly. By paying attention to my driving I get down to 5.7l/100 on the same journey. I'm having a little trouble seeing
It’s difficult to be more complete!
The Vivid Ruby is a special series of the STLine X. In addition to its color, it has almost all the options of the ST Line X as standard. Among the most useful in my eyes, the complete list being too long:
- keyless starting,
- automatic air conditioning
- intelligent high beams
- the windshield, front seats and heated steering wheel,
- dark tinted rear windows
- automatic windshield wipers,
In driving aids:
- blind spot warning (super practical and safe)
- the reversing camera
- adaptive cruise control with lane keeping (how nice!)
- pedestrian anti-collision auto braking (never tried though)
I like less:
- full LED headlights are optional but they light really well.
- the massaging seats too (and since I couldn't try it I didn't take the risk)
I would have liked:
- 4 wheel drive! (I live in the countryside, along a dirt road made of hollows and bumps. And depending on the weather, it's lacking!)
- a 360° camera
- electrically adjustable seats with profile saved on the key (this avoids having to redo the adjustment each time when you change drivers)
- more advanced ergonomics of the Sync 3 navigation and entertainment system, even if it can be used without basic problems.
I am delighted
I needed a small SUV - for health and environmental reasons - and when I started looking at all the brands, only the Puma jumped out at me. As a matter of conscience, I made a comparison of other brands, with more or less identical equipment and engine, it is ultimately one of the least expensive (paid 32,500e without the start-up and the ecological penalty).
And in use, I really like this car. There's better, obviously, but it's (much) more expensive ;)
